Nigerian-Belgian artist Otobong Nkanga selected a very poetic title for her newest exhibition on the Museum of Fashionable Artwork in Paris: “I Dreamt of You in Colors.” This marks her largest present thus far in France. Otobong joins us to speak about how residing entities are in fixed dialogue with the surroundings in her multi-media installations, and why “bling” means a lot greater than the glint of low-cost jewellery in her art work. The award-winning sculptor additionally discusses how stone, textiles and even her personal voice might be formed to inform a narrative, and we talk about the seminal artworks that prompted her to embrace artwork as a profession.
